The Terrible, Amazing, Monday Morning
The caw of the neighboring crows woke me. I stayed on the bed, but I could not go back to sleep. Checking my faithful wrist watch, I became instantly terrified at the time of day. It startled me so much because I never was late for school until today. I sprinted to the bathroom, rigorously brushed my teeth and quickly took a warm shower. I gasped after taking another look at my watch and hearing a faint school bell. “The late bell at 8:20 just rang,” I told myself as I leaped down the stairs with great urgency to gulp down a glass of milk.
My mom came downstairs as I exited the door to rush to school. “Honey, where ya’ going?” she asked. Then she spotted my packed and heavy backpack. She couldn’t help but laugh and snort.
“What happened Mom? What’s so funny?”, I asked impatiently. I left without hearing her answer and inadvertently slammed the door behind me. My mom ran outside and started to call me to come back.
I told her: “I need to go to school right now. I’ll meet you right after school. I’ve got a big final due Friday that I need instructions on.”
It couldn’t get any worse. I’m late! I’m never late! I thought. On my way to school, I saw and overheard some adults chattering about their Spring Vacation Projects, otherwise known as SVP.
And it just hit me. Sure, it was a Monday, but it was spring vacation! My way to school had slowed down from rushing to jogging to walking. I heaved a sigh. So after all, I really never missed a day of school. I stopped and turned around. Then I remembered, I’m late for my swimming lesson!

ANMOL KAPOOR’S FAVORITE 5 TV SHOWS
- White Collar is a show I watch on Netflix. It is pretty fun, cool, and entertaining, which makes it difficult to stop watching these magnificent shows. It is mainly about two friends that grew to trust each other. One is FBI, and the other was a thief that specialized in anything of value. The FBI Special Agent Peter Burke hired Neal Caffrey mainly for the purpose of the way his criminal mind works. Neal Caffrey had tried to run away for freedom from the bureau, twice, but was caught by Peter Burke both times because Burke knew what Neal Caffrey had wanted. Caffrey went to jail but made a deal with Peter Burke that he can go out within a two mile radius and with a tracking anklet on his foot. Caffrey agreed only so he could have a new life, but also to find Kate, the love of his life.
- Royal Pains is another show that I watch on Netflix and is about a concierge business of medicine run by Hank and Evan Lawson, Divya Katdare, and Jeremiah Sacani. There are more, but these four are the main ones throughout the show. Hank and Evan Lawson are brothers that rely on each other, but they keep secrets from each other, which makes the business literally fall apart, but thanks to Divya, the two brothers get reunited. As more characters enter the lives of Hankmed personnel, problems increase. These problems decrease with time.
- Leverage is a very fine show, also shown on Netflix, regarding a gang of thieves that work for revenge and pleasure. With their first episode, this gang of thieves play the cards of revenge and payback against their first client.
- Power Rangers Samurai is funny, entertaining, and action. There are six rangers that fight the evil from their world. I can watch these episodes over and over, and they'd still be entertaining to me. My favorite episode would be when Antonio, the sixth and gold ranger shows up.
- Digimon used to be my favorite, but it soon dropped to be my fifth favorite, as when I almost finished season 1, I looked ahead and ruined the entire show for myself. Digimon is very closely related to Pokemon, as they both share people and monsters. The only difference is the storyline.
