Mr. Boedecker
Three Sensory Word Poem
by G. Boedecker
Clench-fisted trembling
Tight-lipped resembling
I knew what I had to do
Spun out and twirling
through space-time still hurling
my last first thought end anew
This terminous bitterly
uncontrolled jittery
my last act could keep it at bay
while failing to mention
I had such intention
but low I lay this down today
Rise, rise, you precog surprise
and let them all in on the feat
shine, shine, and bathe in the brine
your choices, the voices, repeat.

Where I’m From
by G. Boedecker
I’m from sneaking out
I’m from breaking in
I’m from holiday mornings that taste of gin
I’m from crazy friends
I’m from get up and go
I’m from the village where I pillage, a town called SanLo
I’m from GI Joe battles in the backyard
I’m from truths be told that at times were hard
I’m from candy bags
I’m from odd job money
I’m from broken arm
I’m from California sunny
I’m from soccer playing
I’m from kick the can
I’m from skateboard writing
I’m from shooting rubber bands
I’m from home during summer
I’m from Fraser Flats
I’m from riding my bike
I’m from dogs and cats
I’m from pushing the envelope
I’m from hamming it up
I’m from good and bad choices
I’m from bottle and cup
I’m from Alice in Chains
I’m from many a rap battle
I’m from seven brains
I’m from speakers that tattle
I’m from late late nights
I’m from sleeping all morning
I’m from gone with no goodbye
I’m from breaking without warning
I’m from one little sister
I’m from a house full of others
I’m from a close group of homies
I’m from meeting new others
I’m from my enemy
I’m from my friend
I’m from the beginning
I’m far from the end
